The Buffalo Immigrant Leadership Team (BILT) invites you to our Community Celebration – a fundraiser
which will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2018 from 4-7 pm at the O’Brien Center at Our Lady of Hope
Church, on the corner of Lafayette and Grant Streets.
BILT is a group of immigrants and refugees who are taking leadership positions to influence public policy and
create just and equitable systems for our families. In 2016 and 2017, BILT created powerful new relationships
in the Buffalo Public School system. We won some significant victories, including the expansion of hours at
Lafayette Community School, the development of a new group of parent leaders at Lafayette, and a
commitment from the Buffalo Public School District to more closely track refugee-background and immigrant
student data.
Our Community Celebration promises to be a very special event, an opportunity to share food, music and
fellowship with Buffalo’s diverse ethnic community, while also showing support for BILT. Please join us as a
sponsor of this joyous celebration of Buffalo’s immigrant and refugee communities, which are contributing so
much to our city’s revitalization, making us truly a City of Good Neighbors.
All funds raised will go towards our mission: developing public relationships and developing strong refugee and
immigrant leaders who create just and equitable systems in Buffalo and Erie County. If you would like more
information, please contact community organizer Brian Zralek at (615) 636-7197, or
Tickets are $5 each and sponsorship starts at $50. Thank you for your support!
