Institute on Innovative Aging Policy and Practice (IIAPP)

The Institute on Innovative Aging Policy and Practice (IIAPP) was established at the University at Buffalo in 2013 by Director Louanne Bakk.

This purpose of the IIAPP is to promote aging-related research, scholarship, learning and service concerning care for older persons, particularly those most vulnerable and oppressed. IIAPP is housed within the Buffalo Center for Social Research and is dedicated to the health, well-being and independence of older adults.

Aims of the Institute:

  • Conduct and promote aging-related research.
  • Provide education for students, agencies and community organizations.
  • Advocate to enhance and advance aging policies, programs and services.
  • Engage in interdisciplinary collaborations.
  • Disseminate research findings.
