Job Description: | Join Catholic Charities of Buffalo as a Community-Based MST Therapist and become part of a diverse team dedicated to our mission of inclusivity, compassion, and empowerment. Our non-profit organization serves the eight counties of Western New York with a wide range of programs, including counseling, emergency assistance, mental health services, and more, across 40+ locations. We are looking for compassionate individuals in Erie and Niagara Counties to help empower youth (ages 11-17) and families through the Multisystemic Therapy (MST) model. You will receive ongoing support, training, and supervision as you work holistically with families, communities, and other key members to create lasting, positive behavior changes. Extensive research supports the effectiveness of MST, and as a therapist, you will collaborate closely with all involved to address problematic behaviors and substance abuse, helping youth make life-transforming changes. Required Qualifications: | Master's degree in clinical or counseling Psychology, Social Work, or a related subject area preferred, or a bachelor's degree with experience working with family and/or youth services will be considered. New master's level graduates are encouraged to apply. As responsibilities may require travel, must have appropriate and reliable transportation, and an agency-required level of auto insurance coverage and be able to travel as needed within the eight-county WNY region. The selected candidate will travel to, and serve families, in both Erie County and Niagara County Must be prepared to work a flexible schedule to participate in agency-related activities/events that may take place outside of typical business hours. |
Preferred Qualifications: | Direct use of pragmatic (i.e., structural, strategic, and functional) family therapies Therapy with children and adults using cognitive-behavioral techniques Couples therapy using behaviorally based approaches Implementation of interventions within or between systems in the youth's natural ecology (i.e., family, peer, school, and neighborhood) Collaboration and partnership with community agencies Previous work providing in-home or community-based therapy services |
Rate of Pay: | 48,000-52,000/year |
