Job Description: Salary: $48,000 – $55,000 Department: Social Work - Clinical Location: East Aurora, New York Job Type: Full-time (Salaried, 40 hours/week with paid 30-minute lunch daily. Requires 2 evenings per week until 7 pm. Flexible scheduling is available in coordination with prior approval. Some travel may be necessary. As a Counselor, you will provide evidence-based and trauma-informed care to individuals facing mental health and co-occurring challenges. At The ROC, we prioritize holistic mental health care, including care management to address social needs. Join us as we assist, empower, and elevate individuals towards self-sufficiency. Responsibilities: • Provide individual, group, and crisis therapy for adults utilizing evidence-based practices and curriculum (e.g., CBT, DBT, MI). • Provide play therapy and group counseling for children utilizing evidence-based play therapy techniques under the supervision of an RPT-S. • Conduct comprehensive bio-psycho-social assessments to determine participant risk and needs. • Develop strength-based, whole person-centered treatment plans in collaboration with participants and their support systems. • Monitor participant progress using The ROC’s innovative Outcome Review process to monitor determinants of social health. • Independently manage a caseload of up to 50 participants, demonstrating strong clinical decision-making and judgment. • Provide crisis counseling and intervention, developing safety plans as needed. • Complete discharge paperwork when Participants discontinue services, including providing appropriate community referrals and coordination with other service providers • Maintain accurate and detailed clinical records, ensuring compliance with agency policies, procedures, and governmental regulations, including HIPAA. • Collaborate with schools, psychiatric nurse practitioners, care coordinator, and family members to enhance Participant support networks. • Creatively problem-solve with Participants to address practical obstacles and promote whole-person wellness. Qualifications: • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a social work or mental health -related field (e.g., Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy). • Eligible for licensure within 18 months of hire (LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, etc.). Professional licensure (LMSW, LMFT, MHC-P, CASAC, CRC, LMHC, LCSW) is preferred. • One year of post-graduate direct service experience preferred but not required. • Experience in providing care management is preferred but not required. • Knowledge of common intervention techniques, mental health diagnoses, and resources. • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. • Familiarity with community resources. • Proficiency with Windows-based software applications and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) databases. • Valid driver's license Benefits: • 40-hour salaried work week with paid lunches. • Competitive salary dependent upon experience and licensure.
