Job Description: The Therapist is responsible for providing Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) treatment and case management to families as part of All Children's House family preservation program in the Bronx (10452) and Manhattan (10035). Child-Parent Psychotherapy is a trauma-informed, evidence-based intervention whose primary goal is to support and strengthen the relationship between a child (ages 0-5) and caregiver as a vehicle for restoring the child's sense of safety, attachment, and appropriate affect and improving the child's cognitive, behavioral, and social functioning. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Carry a caseload of 10 families; conduct in depth assessments of family functioning, family history, and presenting problems of all members of the family; provide concrete assistance to address the needs families face, including homelessness, illness, lack of education, etc.; strengthen the dyadic relationship between parent(s) and child through weekly Child-Parent Psychotherapy sessions; act as liaisons and coordinators of all of the service providers in families' lives; undergo intensive training as a Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) therapist as needed (provided by ABC after hire).
Required Qualifications: Master's Degree (Social Work, Mental Health, Counseling Psychology or related field, along with relevant license)
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with child welfare and early childhood preferred; Spanish speaking preferred.
