Job Description: Help individuals make positive changes in their lives while contributing to the knowledge base in your field by working as a therapist in the research study ‘Affect Regulation Training for Alcohol Use Disorder: A Stage II Efficacy Trial.’ This study explores the usefulness of providing emotion regulation skills as part of standard CBT treatment for people with alcohol use disorders, and operates under the supervision of research scientists Paul R. Stasiewicz, PhD and Clara Bradizza, PhD. •Provide individual cognitive-behavioral therapy following a treatment manual, which includes coping skills and other evidence-based tools that support reaching and maintaining abstinence from alcohol. •Establish and maintain a therapeutic helping relationship characterized by warmth, respect, genuineness, and empathy. Required Qualifications: •Master’s degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Counseling, Psychology, or closely related field. •Approved licenses include LMHC, LCSW-R, LCSW, and LMSW. •Two years of post-Master’s verified paid experience providing individual psychotherapy or counseling services to adults. •Experience with addictions required. Internship experience completed as part of a license-eligible degree program may be counted toward this requirement.
Preferred Qualifications: •Previous experience conducting therapy through the use of a treatment manual highly desirable. •Two years of experience conducting clinical research treatment of alcohol use disordered individuals preferred.
Rate of Pay: Full time: $42,000 - $48,000 Half time $21,000 - $24,000
