The following University at Buffalo MSW credit courses count toward our trauma certificate programs if taken within three years of the program start date.

Courses Fulfilling Foundation Course Requirements

  • Trauma Theory and Treatment (3 Credits) Fulfills the 12-hour foundation trauma workshop, Overview of the Nature and Treatment of Trauma
  • Dual Disorders (3 Credits) Fulfills the 6-hour foundation trauma course, Trauma and Addiction

Courses Fulfilling Skill Intervention Course Requirements

Each of the courses below fulfill a 12-hour skill intervention trauma course requirement.

  • Schema Focused Therapy for Trauma-genic, Personality and Co-Occurring Disorders: Understanding Lifetraps (2-day workshop or 1 credit MSW course)
  • SW 593 EMDR (3 Credits)
  • Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy with Traumatized Youth (2-day workshop or 1 credit MSW course)
