Congratulations to Professor Deborah Waldrop for being invited to serve on the C-Change (Collaborating to Conquer Cancer) Planning Committee to develop a National Consensus Research Agenda for Palliative Care and Hospice Care in Cancer.
The meeting, scheduled for July 9-10, 2015 in Washington, DC, will convene the leading palliative care and hospice care researchers to develop a National Consensus Research Agenda for Palliative Care and Hospice Care in Cancer to: identify optimal mixture and delivery of the core components of palliative care and hospice care, identify major gap areas in existing research, prioritize research areas, and determine an agreed upon ask for funding.
As a member of the planning committee we will be asking members for guidance to help C-Change plan the agenda, identify research experts, and develop a strategy for operationalizing the developed research agenda.
Founded in 1998, C-Change regularly assembles cancer leaders from the three sectors—private, public, and not-for-profit—and from across the cancer continuum—prevention, early detection, treatment, and quality of life. C-Change has the unique ability and long-standing success in convening its members, collaborators, and others from the cancer and health care spaces in order to identify, address, and act on problems that no single organization or sector can handle on its own.
