Welcome to the Wellness Project where you will be taken on a journey to increase your knowledge and understanding of the mind-body connection and create a wellness plan that works for you and your clients

What will my employees and clients get out of this course?

Our goal is to help you bring wellness to the workplace and to your clients. In supporting the overall wellness of your employees you are reducing their stress levels, and improving collaboration and productivity. In addition, the lessons, handouts, and guided exercises can be used in individual and group sessions with clients. This goal of the program is to help you and your employees recognize what mental health and wellness really is, when it’s time to reach out for help, and to reduce the stigma of mental health and mental health treatment from both the individual and organizational levels to create more compassionate and supportive home and working environments. Through clinician participation in their own wellness journey, we hope they gain valuable skills and tools to utilize with their clients. We hope you, your staff, and your clients will join us on this journey.

Why does it matter?

Impact of Stress

  • Mood disorders are the most common cause of hospitalization for all people in the U.S. under age 45 (after excluding hospitalization relating to pregnancy and birth). (NAMI, 2021)
  • During June 24–30, 2020, in the US, younger adults, racial/ethnic minorities, essential workers, and unpaid adult caregivers reported having experienced disproportionately worse mental health outcomes, increased substance use, and elevated suicidal ideation. (Czeisler et. al., 2020)

Benefits of a Wellness Program

  • As Generation Z enters the workforce and Millennials continue to advance in their careers, workers are seeking employers that encourage a healthy physical, emotional, social and financial lifestyle. Forty-eight percent of best performers offer holistic well-being programs, compared with 34 percent of companies with higher than average health care spending. (Miller, 2019)
  • Addressing stress and anxiety early on can prevent costly treatment for physical conditions such as hypertension and diabetes. (Miller, 2019
