Foundations of Trauma-Informed Care
The School of Social Work’s Institute on Trauma and Trauma-Informed Care (ITTIC) offers a Foundations of Trauma-Informed Care micro-credential program that awards individuals a digital badge upon completion.
About Foundations of Trauma-Informed Care
This micro-credential focuses on Trauma-Informed Care (TIC), an approach that assumes that an individual is more likely than not to have a history of trauma. TIC recognizes the presence of trauma symptoms and acknowledges the role trauma may play in an individual’s life — including service staff. Learners can contract with ITTIC as an organization to provide foundational training on trauma and TIC before responding to a scenario to showcase their skills.
- The Foundations of Trauma-Informed Care micro-credential can be completed in 12 or 15 hours of in-person or virtual training, depending on the organization's needs.
