All UB students, whether in our online or on-campus degree programs, must have access to a computer and printer. To ensure an optimal learning experience, please confirm your computer and related equipment meet the minimum technology requirements. You must also have basic skills as noted below.
*Many courses use video and applications that are not currently supported on tablets, Android or iOS devices, so you will not be able to successfully complete courses using only a mobile device. You may be able to access course websites and some course documents on these devices, but you will need routine access to a computer to make sure you can access all required course content.
Brightspace (UB Learns) is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Registered UB students with a UBIT username have free access to the latest academic and productivity software, including Microsoft Office and anti-virus programs. Review the software available before considering any purchases for coursework.
If you use a Mac, be sure your Mac meets UB's minimum recommendations. Consult the UBIT Help Desk for any technical issues.
Minimum Recommendations: Macintosh Computers
Many courses will conduct synchronous class sessions via different webinar tools, such as Blackboard Collaborate, Zoom, Skype for Business or Google+ Hangouts.
