Buffalo Niagara employers connecting with refugees to meet hiring needs

The Buffalo News quoted Wooksoo Kim — associate professor and director of the School of Social Work’s Immigrant and Refugee Research Institute — in an article about employers looking to hire immigrants and refugees to fill openings.

“Buffalo, like many other Rust Belt cities, we have learned that economic development goes hand in hand with immigration population,” Kim said at a recent panel discussion. “We have a very good reason and a motivation for adopting more initiatives and policies to accept newcomers.”
