This summer, a pair of UB School of Social Work experts shared their insights on podcasts devoted to midwifery and trauma-informed care.

Mickey Sperlich, associate professor, was the featured guest on an episode of the Journey to Midwifery podcast. Sperlich, an experienced midwife and researcher, discusses how perinatal providers can integrate trauma-informed care into their practices, as well as other insights from her book, Survivor Moms: Women's Stories of Birthing, Mothering and Healing after Sexual Abuse, and her psychoeducational training program, Survivor Moms Companion.

Tonya Myles-Day, clinical assistant professor and faculty support liaison for racially underrepresented students, was featured on #TransformTrauma, the podcast for the Campaign for Trauma-Informed Policy and Practice. Myles-Day discussed the intersection of trauma-informed care with accessibility, belonging, diversity, equity, inclusion and justice, and how listeners can evaluate the presence of these principles within their institutions.
