| Job Description: | This position is part of the Family Support Center. The successful candidate must possess valid New York State certification as a School Social Worker and Licensed Master Social Worker. Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong knowledge of child and adolescent mental health concerns. The Social Worker will counsel referred students, individually or in group sessions, so as to support change related to educational and social functioning. The candidate will identify biological, medical, psychological, cultural, sociological, emotional, legal, economic, and environmental factors that impact student learning. The candidate will implement appropriate school intervention and prevention programs in response to demonstrated needs, which may include but not be limited to: crisis intervention, conflict resolution, violence prevention, substance abuse prevention, child abuse prevention, positive self-image, social skills and character education, consultation, individual, group and/or family counseling. Excellent computer skills are needed for record keeping and correspondence matters. |
