BUFFALO, N.Y. – The University at Buffalo School of Social Work and Canisius College announced a new 3+2 program that will allow Canisius students to complete both their BA or BS in psychology at Canisius and a master of social work at UB in approximately five years.

The 3+2 program is open to Canisius students who, by the completion of their third year of enrollment at the college, complete a minimum of 90 credits, including the common core and psychology major requirements. Canisius students interested in the 3+2 program will be provided with individual academic advisement during the completion of the three-year degree plan.

“We are delighted about this collaboration with Canisius College,” said Keith Alford, dean of UB’s School of Social Work, who announced the new program with Thomas A. Chambers, dean of the College of Arts & Sciences at Canisius.

“We will benefit by attracting some of the very best Canisius students who wish to pursue a career in the social work profession, and the students will benefit by completing both their undergraduate and graduate education in five years rather than six,” he continued.

More information is available online from Canisius College or UB.
