Congratulations go out to Mary Keovisai, second year MSW/PhD student for being selected as a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) Health Policy Research Scholar (HPRS). Acknowledging the difficulties regarding health and health care for underrepresented populations RWJF seeks to bring said populations together to improve the health care landscape.  As a recipient of this award Keovisai will be working with fellow doctoral students from diverse fields and backgrounds with plans to influence future policy creation and implementation. Keovisai says she is “looking forward to being able to fuse the skills and training [she’ll] get through the HPRS program with that from the PhD program” to be “in the best position [she] can be in to improve the well-being of refugees and immigrants, and society as a whole. “
