The University at Buffalo (UB), State University of New York, is an academic partner in the Northeastern States Addiction Technology Transfer Center (NSATTC) which serves New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The coordinating organization for the NSATTC region is the Professional Development Program, Rockefeller College, University at Albany.
The NSATTC New York State Office is administered by the School of Social Work, University at Buffalo, working closely with the Research Institute on Addictions (RIA). There are 13 regional ATTCs and a National ATTC Office providing an integrated network for sharing information with addiction treatment academics, professional practitioners and customers. The ATTCs are funded by the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment, SAMHSA.
Technology transfer is dissemination of research findings and best practice examples. It should achieve more than a simple transfer of knowledge to professional practitioners: it should improve practice, modify organizational behavior and influence policy.
The vision of the ATTC network is to unify research, education and practice to transform lives.
