Field Educator Reception

Outstanding Field Educator Award Clock.

The field educator reception is an annual event held by the School of Social Work to honor the significant contributions made by all of our field educators who supervise students in their field placements as part of the MSW program.

It is an opportunity to express our appreciation for their commitment to our students, our school and to the social work profession.

The 2023 Field Education Reception will be held in person on Thursday, May 11, 2023.  Will be also be holding a Virtual Thank You on  <insert date here> for those who could not attend in person.

Each year at this event an award for Outstanding Achievement in Field Education is given to a field educator.

The 2022-23 award recipients for Outstanding Achievement in Field Education are:

  • Faustina Palmatier, Karen Society of Buffalo
  • Jamali Moses, Humanities Prep Academy (Online Program)

Students are invited to nominate their field educators for this prestigious award based on established criteria relating to their characteristics in the role as field educator. All nominees are acknowledged and honored at the reception.

Outstanding Field Educator Award Nominations

Nominations typically open in February and close April 1.

The recipient(s) are announced prior to the Field Reception in May.

Students receive an email with instructions on how to nominate their Field Educator and or Task Supervisor in Sonia.
