Students are required to take a total of 9 credits of advanced analysis coursework, which can be taken in any academic unit at UB and must include doctoral-level content. These courses can be taken in any combination or sequence, but some analysis courses are offered as part of a year-long, two-course sequence. Students work with their faculty advisors to select courses that will build students’ research analysis skills and competencies. Of the advanced analysis courses, at least two must cover quantitative techniques. The third may involve qualitative, quantitative, or mixed method approaches.
Students have taken advanced analysis courses in a variety of departments at UB, including: Biostatistics, Sociology, Nursing, Psychology, Educational Leadership & Policy, and Counseling, School & Educational Psychology. Please browse the UB Graduate Class Schedule for specific offerings.
