Through hands-on practice and remediation tasks, the Creating ADA-Compliant Documents micro-credential will train you to create accessible digital materials using tools in Word, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat.

Employers must follow requirements set by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) — and need candidates with specialized skills to help. Through this micro-credential, you will gain a competitive advantage by certifying your expertise in ADA compliance. You will learn how to ensure that programs and services are accessible to all clients, and prepare to market your new skills to employers.

Program Overview

Creating ADA-Compliant Documents digital badge.

The Creating ADA-Compliant Documents micro-credential is open to UB School of Social Work students. The program can be completed remotely and within a semester.

To earn the micro-credential, you must:

  • Complete self-paced Deque University modules on digital accessibility (10-15 hours)
  • Successfully remediate select documents using accessibility tools in Word, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat (20-25 hours)
  • Create a 3-5 minute elevator pitch for prospective employers promoting your skills in ADA compliance and how they will benefit the organization

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
