Application Requirements
Before you begin your application, review the application components and prerequisites.
SUNY Free Application Week from October 19 - November 2, 2026
To qualify for an application fee waiver, complete the steps below by between October 19 and November 2. Once completed, we will automatically waive your application fee.
- STEP 1: Complete your UB School of Social Work application form, send out your three recommendation requests and hit "submit."
- STEP 2: Upload your personal statement essay(s).
- MSW applicants must follow essay guidelines on our website.
- DSW applicants must submit both their personal statement essay and DEI and perseverance statement following the DSW application process instructions.
- PhD applicants must upload both their statement of research interests and DEI and perseverance statement, following the PhD application process instructions.
