All students, faculty and staff at the University at Buffalo are given a unique UBITName and password that will allow you to access campus resources.
Your UBITName and password will be used to log-in to public computers on campus, MyUB, HUB Student Center, PC Stations, UBmail and UB Learns.
Activating your UBITName is a simple process that requires just a few steps:
- As instructed in your admission letter from the UB School of Social Work, you will first log-in to your application portal to confirm your acceptance.
- Second, you will access your UBITName and person number in your application portal. You will find these listed at the top of the page a few days after being admitted.
- Third, The Graduate School will email you a one-time use password to the email address you used on your application. Look for an email with the subject line: Your Access to UB. (Check your spam folder.) Once you’ve gathered your UBITName and Person Number, you are ready to activate your UBITName.
- Finally, on the Activate Your UBITName website, select your group from the list provided and click on the hyperlink. Next, go to the UBITName Manager and follow the instructions on the screen to activate your UBITName. Once you’ve activated your UBITName, you will be prompted to change your password.
- If you do not receive the one-time password within 7 days of acceptance, follow the instructions on the side of the UBIT activation webpage where it says "missing your one-time password"
