You will be assigned a UB email account (UBmail) powered by Google, and this will serve as your main form of electronic communication with students, faculty and staff.
It is essential for you to enable your email account, become familiar with it and log in regularly. We recommend that you check your account several times a week.
You will use your UBITName and your password to authenticate your identity to read, send and manage your UBmail. Your email address is your UBITName@buffalo.edu.
The easiest way to access your UBmail is via myub.buffalo.edu. You will be prompted to enter your UBITName and password. Once logged in to MyUB, click on the UBmail tab at the top of the screen.
You can also use your mobile device to access your UBmail.
For times when you don’t have access to your email client, you can log into the web version of UB Gmail through any web browser. You will be prompted to enter your UBITName and password.
Although UBmail accounts can be forwarded to another email address, we recommend that you do not forward. Some email providers may treat forwarded email as spam and you may miss an important announcement or message.
