Our computing resources help connect you with the people, coursework and information you need to complete your education through the UB School of Social Work.
In addition to the resources in this section, you should review the Technology Requirements page of our website.
Also, UB Information Technology’s (UBIT) Information for Students website provides details about how to access, manage and troubleshoot university technologies.
Before you purchase software for your coursework, review the free software you may access as a University at Buffalo student, including Symantec anti-virus software and Microsoft Office. Software is available for both Windows and Macintosh operating systems.
The UBIT Help Center provides assistance in accessing UBIT services, including help with password issues and other general computing questions. The Help Desk is located on the third floor of Oscar A. Silverman Library on the UB North Campus. Each semester, the Center and Tech Squad’s walk-in service hours are posted on the UB Tech Squad and Help Center Services website.
> Contact the UBIT Help Desk at 716-645-3542 or ubithelp@buffalo.edu
As a UB student, you are responsible for following the university’s information technology policies. This includes ensuring that your computer’s operating system is up to date and your anti-virus software is current.
Each Master of Social Work (MSW) student is automatically subscribed to the MSW listserv, a mailing list used to send important email notifications. You will receive listserv messages at your UBmail address.
