  1. This writer will engage in research to advance social work practice by imputing data from quality of life assessments into SPSS and reviewing the findings.
  2. This writer will demonstrate the ability to articulate how research findings can improve practice, by observing and administering assessments such as the Dementia scale and assist in writing up reports on the assessments with specialists.
  3. Develop a "Quick Reference" Tool featuring the agencies names, numbers and summary of services student would most commonly refer their clients to for their most frequent needs.
  4. Independently seek out research related to the field setting and present it to field educator and/or colleagues at the field setting.
  5. Apply information from SW 510 to evaluate research studies related to practice at field agency. Discuss with field educator.
  6. Utilize specific engagement techniques (identify these), effectively assessing client needs--discuss with the task supervisor and field educator.
  7. Maintain ongoing assessment of clients needs via case work contacts. Discuss in supervision.
  8. Complete _____ (identify number to be completed) written assessment(s) based on identified strengths and limitations. Field educator to review the written assessment and give feedback.
  9. Discuss with field educator the various theories presented in SW 505 that relate to the assessment process at placement.
  10. Utilize the existing evaluation tools used in the field agency/setting. Discuss with supervisor how to use and interpret results of the evaluation tools.
  11. Interview client/target system utilizing information from SW 520 and SW 503. Field educator will evaluate this skill via direct observation, audio/video taping or process recording (identify which method will be used).
  12. Explain the importance of using evidence-based research methods broadly and in relation to placement setting.
